We are going to Philadelphia to visit our extended family tomorrow. I can't wait to be with all of them. We will be there a week.

I am bringing my latest crochet project to work on....a dress for Clara. I have the bodice completed. The bodice is striped, and I am so glad I have finished working in all the ends!

Nonna

P.s. The photo in the header was taken last year. That is my Joseph. He is a most delightful child.

Crochet Sweaters

I have been busy crocheting for dear Clara.  The first sweater I made from an Alicia Paulson pattern, which is found in the book, Vintage Crochet.  The name of the pattern is "Maisie" Cardigan.  The yarn used was Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino in mauve.  Here is Clara wearing the cardigan.

I made the sweater in size 12-24 months.  It fits one-year old Clara fine.  There are four, tiny flower buttons, but they don't show up in the photo.

I also crocheted a sweater/hat set from a free pattern found on the Lion Brand site.  The set is called, Crochet Cute as a Bunny.  The pink yarn is Baby Soft Yarn in bubblegum and the white yarn is Velvetspun.   The hat has a bunny face embroidered on it; but, once again the photo doesn't show the face.  The buttons are bunnies.

I wish I had taken a close-up of the sweaters and hat, but I didn't.  I am just so thankful they turned out so well.

I hope to make the Mina Dress, by Alicia Paulson, for my next project for Clara.  Also,
I am planning  an adult-sized  project, the  Millie Cardigan (Alicia Paulson). for a Christmas gift for one of my dear, daughter-in-laws.  The Mina Dress pattern I downloaded on Ravelry, and the  Millie Cardigan is in the Vintage Crochet Book

Christmas Photo Card

We are going to try and take photos this morning for our Christmas card.  Mrs. Claus is dressed and waiting for the four elves.  Hopefully, they will cooperate this year (ha!)    The stage is set for an awesome card, but it will probably wind up a comedy of errors.  Ever hopeful Nonna Claus never gives up.

Clara's First Birthday

We celebrated Clara's first birthday this week.  Mommy made her a cake with ladybug's on it.  Clara loved having her cousins with her to celebrate.  Here are some photos of Clara on her special day.

Our newphew., Dan O'Malley, has written a book which will be released early next year.  Our family cannot wait to read The Rook, by Daniel O'Malley.  He is a funny, bright and interesting young man, and I know his book will rock.

‎"The body you are wearing used to be mine." So begins the letter Myfanwy Thomas is holding when she awakes in a London park surrounded by bodies all wearing latex gloves. With no recollection of who she is, Myfanwy must follow the instructions her former ...self left behind to discover her identity and track down the agents who want to destroy her. She soon learns that she is a Rook, a high-ranking member of a secret organization called the Chequy that battles the many supernatural forces at work in Britain. She also discovers that she possesses a rare, potentially deadly supernatural ability of her own. In her quest to uncover which member of the Chequy betrayed her and why, Myfanwy encounters a person with four bodies, an aristocratic woman who can enter her dreams, a secret training facility where children are transformed into deadly fighters, and a conspiracy more vast than she ever could have imagined. Filled with characters both fascinating and fantastical, THE ROOK is a richly inventive, suspenseful, and often wry thriller that marks an ambitious debut from a promising young writer.

We celebrated my son Tristan's birthday and my birthday last night.  It was so much fun having everyone together.  The littles were very well-behaved. What a joy to have such a beautiful family.
